Vertex is the leading brand for OEM replacement pistons, based in Italy, and an OEM supplier to KTM and numerous European manufacturers of motorcycles and karts. Compared to two-stroke engines, four-stroke engines operate at significantly higher cylinder pressures and are typically constructed from forged components. Vertex four-stroke pistons are forged from the highest-quality 2618 aluminum alloy, which ensures superior strength and durability to withstand the internal pressures of a four-stroke engine. Vertex uses unique piston profiles and compression ratios to maximize performance while reducing oil consumption. Manufacturer : All pistons are heat-treated in a T-5 hardening and tempering cycle. The piston skirts are coated with a high-tech molybdenum disulfide coating. This shortens the break-in period and extends the service life of the pistons.
